Our young balsam fir shoots bring freshness and comfort. This woody and aromatic herbal tea is ideal for soothing the respiratory tract and revitalizing the body.

BENEFITS

Balsam fir:We walk through the forest and lovingly harvest pesticide-free fruit from an estate in Northern Canada, then transform these precious ingredients into powerful extracts for our food and body care products.

Richness in vitamin C:Balsam fir needles are naturally rich in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that helps strengthen the immune system, protect cells from free radical damage, and promote skin health.

Antioxidant properties:In addition to vitamin C, balsam fir contains other beneficial antioxidants, such as polyphenols, which help protect cells from oxidative damage and promote overall health.

Antibacterial properties:Some studies suggest that balsam fir may have antibacterial properties, making it a potential natural remedy for fighting bacterial infections and supporting immune health.

Expectorant effect:Balsam fir tea is traditionally used to relieve respiratory ailments such as coughs, colds, bronchitis, and chest congestion. Its expectorant properties can help clear the airways by facilitating the expulsion of mucus.

KEY INGREDIENTS

Balsam fir: From the earth to you, our plant extracts come directly from an estate in Northern Canada, cultivated with respect for the environment and biodiversity.

White cedar:There is insufficient data on the use of white cedar during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so it is recommended to avoid it in these cases as a precaution.

Calendula:The antioxidant compounds in calendula can help strengthen the immune system by neutralizing free radicals and protecting cells from oxidative damage. Drinking calendula tea can help support overall health and reduce the risk of disease.

Wild mint:Due to its expectorant properties, wild mint can help clear the airways, relieving nasal congestion, coughs, and cold and flu symptoms. Wild mint tea may be beneficial for respiratory conditions such as bronchitis and asthma.

Marjoram: Marjoram is rich in antioxidant compounds, such as flavonoids and phenols, which help protect the body's cells from free radical damage. Regular consumption of marjoram tea can help strengthen the immune system.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Preparation of a herbal tea:Herbal tea is a light infusion of plants, usually prepared with delicate leaves, flowers, or seeds.

1 to 2 teaspoons of dried herbs (or 1 to 2 tablespoons of fresh herbs)

1 cup (250 ml) hot water

Heat the water:Heat the water until it is hot but not boiling (about 90-95°C or 194-203°F).1

Infuse the herbs:Place the herbs in a cup or teapot. Pour hot water over the herbs.

Let it infuse:Cover the cup or teapot to retain the aromas. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the desired strength. Longer infusions can extract more flavor and benefits, but can also become more bitter.

Filter:Use a strainer to remove the herbs and you can drink with the herbs.

Taste:Drink the herbal tea warm. You can add Anokian Nature honey or other flavorings to taste, such as lemon.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Cold Infusion:

  • For a refreshing herbal tea, try cold infusion. Place the herbs in cold water and let them steep in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.

Experiment with Plant Milks:

  • Our herbal teas go well with plant-based milks (almond, coconut, oat) for a richer, creamier drink.

Using Leftover Herbs:

  • Don't discard the infused herbs. They can be used as compost or to infuse a second time, although the infusion will be weaker.
You can make a decoction:Hot or cold decoction, according to your preference. You need 12 cups of cold water for 1 to 2 tablespoons of our Anokian Nature herbal teas. Simmer for 30 to 45 minutes over low heat. You can add honey, lemon, or other natural flavorings to enhance the taste if necessary. You will have enough herbal tea for 3 to 4 days.
