HOW TO COOK?

The Solar Flare tomato is an excellent option for preparing sauces due to its juicy texture, balanced taste, and vibrant color that adds visual depth to your dishes. Here's how you can cook the Solar Flare tomato to make a delicious

  • sauce:

Ingredients :
Solar Flare Tomatoes (approx. 1-1.5 kg for a medium-sized sauce)
Garlic (2-3 cloves, chopped)
Onion (1 large, finely chopped)
Olive oil (2-3 tablespoons)
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Fresh herbs (basil, oregano, thyme, your choice)
Optional: pinch of sugar (to balance the acidity)
Instructions :
Preparing the tomatoes:

Scald Solar Flare Tomatoes: Boil water in a large pot. Slit the skin of the tomatoes crosswise at the base, then lower them into the boiling water for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, until the skin begins to peel off. Remove them with a slotted spoon and immediately plunge them into ice water to stop the cooking process. This will make the skin easier to peel off.

Remove the skins from the cooled tomatoes and roughly dice them. You can also gently squeeze them to remove the seeds if you prefer a thinner sauce.

Cooking the sauce:

In a large skillet or heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Add the finely chopped onions and cook until they become translucent and begin to brown.

Add the diced tomatoes to the pan with a pinch of salt and pepper. Simmer over low to medium heat for about 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes break down and the sauce thickens slightly.

If the sauce seems too acidic, add a pinch of sugar to balance the flavors.

Halfway through cooking, you can add fresh herbs like basil, oregano, or thyme according to your preference. This will add fresh aromas to your sauce.

Once the sauce has reached the desired consistency, adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Use :

Use freshly prepared Solar Flare tomato sauce as a base for pasta, pizza, meat or fish dishes, or even as a dipping sauce.

HOW TO GROW?

This tomato is an indeterminate but does not need staking (bush style)

The first wild tomatoes (i.e., botanical) were those brought back during the Spanish conquest of Mexico. They were all indeterminate tomatoes. This is why most ancestral varieties and heirloom tomatoes are indeterminate.

In nature, an indeterminate tomato plant continues to elongate and grow endlessly, but it will slow down as the days get shorter and the nights get cooler. This variety will grow approximately 60-90 cm; the plant will grow in width, not length.

This strain is great for people who don't have a lot of space to grow.

These plants produce on all their branches, alternately, a bouquet of flowers after three leaves (rarely two or four) and this throughout the production season.

Rare! Take care of it!
