Elderberry: TheElderberry tincture is a concentrated liquid extract of the berries or flowers of the elderberry (Sambucus nigra). It is commonly used for its medicinal properties, including supporting the immune system and relieving symptoms of colds and flu.

Medicinal ingredients: Canadian elderberry (sambucus nigra subsp. canadensis, fruit) 

Non-medicinal ingredients: Alcohol, aqua, water/eau, sucrose. 

Recommended ending:Used in Herbal Medicine to induce sweating and to help relieve fever in cases of colds or flu. Such as coughs, sore throats, and upper respiratory catarrh. 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Directions: Take one teaspoon (5ml) 3 times a day. 

Standard dosage:

For adults: The recommended dose is generally 20 to 30 drops (5ml) of elderberry tincture, diluted in a little water, two to three times a day.

For children (over 12 years): The recommended dose is generally 10 to 15 drops (approximately 0.5 to 0.75 ml), diluted in a little water, two to three times a day.

Taking instructions:

Dilution: Dilute the mother tincture in a small glass of water, juice, or tea. This helps mask the potentially strong taste and makes it easier to swallow.

Time of taking: Take elderberry tincture approximately 15 to 30 minutes before meals for optimal absorption.

Duration: Use elderberry tincture during times of need, such as at the onset of cold or flu symptoms, or as a preventative treatment during colder seasons. Do not exceed 2 weeks of continuous use without consulting a healthcare professional.

Precautions:

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Consult a health professional before using elderberry tincture if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Children: Consult a health professional before giving elderberry tincture to children under 12 years of age.

Medical conditions and drug interactions: If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or are taking other medications, consult a healthcare professional before using elderberry tincture.

Possible side effects 

  • Mild side effects: Some people may experience mild stomach upset or minor allergic reactions. If you experience any adverse effects, discontinue use and consult a health professional.
  • Severe reactions: In case of a severe allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat), seek medical help immediately.
TIPS AND TRICKS

Preventive treatment: During cold seasons or times when you are exposed to infections (such as when traveling or during times of high stress), take 1 tsp of elderberry tincture diluted in water once a day to strengthen your immune system.
