3.99$

A bit of history

Another excellent Striped Beefsteak Tomato a variety that was introduced in 2013, created and developed by Brad Gates, Brad Gates’ Wild Boar Farms of California. It is a mid-season plant with regular leaves. It is also a high yielding indeterminate type. They produce these beautiful pink tomatoes with yellow stripes. These are very juicy tomatoes that have a sweet but fruity flavor.

Properties
Tomatoes are known to contain a powerful carotenoid called lycopene. This phytonutrient, responsible for the red color of tomatoes and other fruits, has been studied for its protective role against certain types of cancer and its ability to lower cholesterol. Tomatoes are also rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, which have antioxidant properties, and contain good amounts of potassium and B vitamins, which are beneficial for heart health.
How do we cook?

This variety of tomato is excellent in Sandwiches. In hot or cold soup, in a sauce to season a comforting pasta dish, as a simple and refreshing starter. You can eat the whole tomato fresh or cooked, whole or diced, crushed or in juice, choose your recipes according to your desires. If you have any tomatoes left from the garden, make candied tomatoes or season them with basil and garlic then grind them, you will get a tasty homemade pizza sauce!

How do we cultivate?

This tomato is indeterminate but does not need bush style stakes. The first wild tomatoes (i.e. botanical) were those brought back during the conquest of Mexico by the Spanish. They were all indeterminate tomatoes. This is why most heirloom varieties and Heirlooms are indeterminate tomatoes. In the wild, an indeterminate tomato plant continues to lengthen and grow endlessly, but it will slow down as the days get shorter and the nights get cooler. This variety will measure approximately between 60-90 cm. The plant will grow in width and not in length. this strain is great for people who don’t have a lot of space to grow. These plants produce on all their branches, alternately, a bouquet of flowers after three leaves (rarely two or four) throughout the production season. Our seeds are vigorous, open-pollinated and adapted to the Quebec climate It is very rare! Take care!
