Benefits

Red clover: We walk across a meadow and lovingly harvest pesticide-free fruit on an estate in Northern Canada, then transform these precious ingredients into powerful extracts for our food and body care products.

Hormonal balance: Red clover is rich in isoflavones, plant compounds that act as phytoestrogens. These substances can help regulate hormones in the body, especially in women during menopause. Red clover tea may help alleviate menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances.

Bone Health Support: Isoflavones found in red clover may help maintain bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis, especially in postmenopausal women who are prone to bone loss.

Antioxidant: Red clover is rich in antioxidants, which help protect the body's cells from free radical damage and prevent premature aging.

Detoxification: Red clover is often used as a detoxifying herb, helping to eliminate toxins and purify the blood. Red clover tea may be beneficial in supporting the body's detoxification processes.

Key Ingredients

Red clover: From the earth to you, our plant extracts come directly from an estate in Northern Canada, cultivated with respect for the environment and biodiversity.

Wild thyme: Wild thyme has a relaxing effect on the nervous system, making it an effective natural remedy for relieving stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Drinking a cup of wild thyme tea can promote relaxation and mental well-being.

Yarrow: Yarrow has traditionally been used to relieve digestive upsets such as bloating, gas, abdominal cramps, indigestion, and nausea. It can help stimulate digestion, soothe the stomach, and relieve gastrointestinal discomfort.

Juniper berry: Juniper berries are rich in antioxidants, which help neutralize free radicals and protect the body's cells from oxidative damage. Regular consumption of juniper berry tea can help strengthen the immune system and prevent diseases.

Instructions for use

Preparation of a herbal tea: Herbal tea is a mild infusion of plants, usually prepared with delicate leaves, flowers, or seeds. 13

1 to 2 teaspoons dried herbs (or 1 to 2 tablespoons fresh herbs)

1 cup (250 ml) hot water

Heat the water: Heat the water until it is hot but not boiling (about 90-95°C or 194-203°F).

Infuse the herbs: Place the herbs in a cup or teapot. Pour the hot water over the herbs.

Let it infuse: Cover the cup or teapot to retain the aromas. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on desired strength. Longer steeps can extract more flavor and benefits, but can also become more bitter.

Filter:

Use a strainer to remove the herbs and you can drink with the herbs.

Taste:

Drink the herbal tea hot. You can add Anokian Nature honey or  dother flavorings to taste like lemon.

Tips and Tricks

Cold Infusion:

  • For a refreshing herbal tea, try cold brewing. Place the herbs in cold water and let it steep in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.

Experiment with Plant Milks:

  • Our herbal teas go well with plant-based milks (almond, coconut, oat) for a richer and creamier drink.

Using Leftover Herbs:

  • Do not throw away the infused herbs. They can be used as compost or to infuse a second time, although the infusion will be weaker.

You can make a decoction:

Hot or cold decoction, depending on your preference. You need 12 cups of cold water for1 to 2 tablespoons of our Anokian Nature herbal teas.   Let it simmer for 30 to 45 minutes on low heat. You can add honey, lemon or other natural flavors to improve the taste if necessary. You will have enough herbal tea for 3 to 4 days.
